Instruction

Sharing and Caring — Teaching classical techniques and passing philosophies on is important to keep this classical artform alive.

Classes+Demos

Building a Foundation — Painting instruction is centered around developing strong fundamental brushstrokes so those learning can adapt Eastern style to any creative medium. Believing the classroom keeps artists humble and constantly learning, Griffith Tso teaches brushwork techniques on rice paper and pottery in workshop formats, public demos, weekly classes and private settings. Check Reston Community Center for Thursday morning class information and contact the artist with inquiries for workshops and one-on-one instruction. Demo and event listings are posted on Facebook.

Supplies+Resources

Favorites — The artist recommends supplies from Oriental Art Supply in Huntington Beach, Ca. for excellent quality brushes, ink, paper and books.

Mayco Colors offers creamy, vibrant cone 6 underglazes that lends well to a fluid brushstroking style for use under clear overglaze. Artist-designed texture mats are also available.
